I am a photography enthusiast living in Calgary, Canada. I have been taking pictures since I was six years old using my father’s ancient Exa 35 mm camera. Going with the times, I began exploring digital photography and the enormous creative potential available in the digital darkroom. Photography enables me to combine my fascination with technology and my appreciation of natural spaces. Through my images, I can focus on and share with others the incredible beauty found in the details that comprise our environment.
Digital photographs were captured using a Nikon D3, D3s, as well as the older D70s, D200, or D300. Post processing was done using Apple Macintosh with Nikon Capture NX, Adobe Photoshop, and Capture One. For the most part, fiddling with the computer is limited to adjusting the brightness of the image, dodging and burning, cropping, and sharpening. I print the images with an Epson Photo R3800 on Premium Luster or Enhanced Matte papers.
All the photographs on this website are copyright Michael Wieser. If you are interested in obtaining a high-quality digital or paper copy, please contact me at "mike at opticnervous.com" (replace the "at" with @).
